The NGB J-5 Directorate is the focal point for assisting the CNGB in six mission essential areas:
- Develop, promulgate and implement NGB strategy, planning guidance, and policy related to current and future plans.
- Provide CNGB with transformational and strategic initiative plans and support.
- Prepares NG joint strategies plans, documents and studies.
- Initiate and maintain intergovernmental/interagency coordination.
- Advocate and NGB interface for all new concepts and transformational policy.
- Provide administrative and operations support to all elements within J-5.
